I’m here to help you
when you get stuck.
Psychologist, philosopher, public speaker & entrepreneur
My philosophy
We all get stuck in life sometimes. That’s only natural. We’re all just people trying to figure our this life, so that’s fine. But you don’t have to do it al by yourself. We all need someone who listens, who can give you new perspectives and who can make you feel safe to share what bothers you. I want to be that person for you.
I believe that all our problems are inter-personal problems. So when you face difficulties with yourself, your relationship, your work, friends, family, society, or whatever? Let’s talk about it and figure out how to get unstuck.
Who I can help
Normal people who feel stuck and need help
If you’re feeling lonely and you need someone to listen
If you’re facing difficulties with yourself, your relationship, your work or your family
When you feel like your going in circles
Who I can’t help
If you need medical help
If you have a history with psychoses etc.
If you are diagnosed with a mental disorder
If you are currently receiving therapy from another psychologist
Who am I?
I’m Kai Vermaas and I’d like to think that my life is quite a story. I’ve studied Psychology at Twente University and Eastern Philosophy at Radboud University. Then I became a public speaker and filmmaker for a couple of years and I’ve made movies all over the world which sparked a real fascination in me for cultures, religions and the “expat” life.
Now I’m a psychologist and therapist and I own a Creative Agency with my wife Paulien: Bureau Aandacht.
In my personal life I’ve struggled with burn-out, depression, family issues, relationships, not knowing what I wanted work-wise etc. And I’d like to think that my personal experiences with these struggles and my education as a psychologist give me a unique and personal approach to my work. I always see you as a full person, you’re not sick, you just need a hand and I’d like to be the person to help you get back on track.
What I do.
For when you’re struggling with personal issues like insecurity, not knowing what you want, not being able to make choices, pleasing-behaviour, etc. and you want to talk one-on-one with me.
Individual therapy
Couples therapy
When you’re facing difficulties in a relationship, couples therapy can help you reconnect. Sometimes you can’t work it all out together and having an objective third party like me can help to figure it out.
Your family and especially your parents have a profound influence on who you are, how you act and how you feel. This can be a good thing, but it can also hold you back. When that’s the case, call me.

FAQs

Unfortunately not. In order to be covered you need a “mental disorder” diagnosis and there’s plenty clinics for that. I want to be there for regular people who aren’t sick but just need some help. The downside of that is that the insurance companies don’t cover that.

You are unique. So my approach with you will be just as unique. We do always start with an intake sessions where you can share what bothers you and I will listen and ask some questions. The most important thing to discover is if you feel safe with me and if you want to continue. Then the unique part begins.

Sure you can. For couples therapy it’s even encouraged. Or if you want a friend to be there for you. But if you rather want to come alone, that’s fine. Just let me know.

A session takes an hour and costs €100,- per session.

I can guarantee full privacy as I am not connected to any parties like a GP or health insurance. Everything you say is between you and me.
